Margaret Masterman was a founding member of the EPs, and a philosopher and language researcher at Cambridge for most of her life, where she founded CLRU, the Cambridge Language Research Unit, a pioneering site in artificial intelligence. She was a founder and Vice-principal of Lucy Cavendish College in Cambridge, and the wife of Richard Braithwaite. Several EPs lived at their house at 11 Millington Road.
